Kung Fu

Kung Fu is an ancient Chinese martial art that goes back thousands of years. It is designed to affect a person on every level, from the mental to the physical, from the external to the internal.

It is based on principles, that not only form the framework for the physical movements, but also for the philosophical view of our practice. Kung fu is more than learning how to fight it is about learning how to fight your biggest opponent… yourself. In order to do this one must first learn discipline and hard work. These two ideas are fundamental to kung fu. The term “kung fu” or more correctly “gung fu” means a high level of skill acquired through hard work and sacrifice.

With this in mind we teach that gung fu can be had in anything from pottery to painting, cooking to writing, business to counseling. When discipline and hard work are applied an individual can raise a skill to an art like state, thus martial ARTS. Through the mastery of the martial arts a person learns to transfer the ideas of hard work and discipline to whatever goal they set for themselves. This is of value in all areas of life whether it be family, school, or business.

Qigong

Qigong is an ancient art used for health, vitality and an expanded awareness of self. Through movement guided by breath practitioners learn to sense the energetic side of their nature. This is a gentle and nurturing practice that is peacful and serene. Learn how to manage your stress and use breath as a tool for meditation and everyday stress reflief at will.

Tuesday and Thursday Evenings 7:30-8:30pm
